Vitocal 160-A

The compact Vitocal 160-A DHW heat pump is equipped with all the components necessary for efficient and space-saving DHW heating. Together with the heat pump module (output 1.52 kW, COP = 3.54 at 15 °C air and 45 °C water temperature), a 285 litre cylinder, electric booster heater and the control unit are all integrated inside one casing. It is convenient to select the various programs using the particularly easy-to-operate control unit with its large display. Whether you want to set times for DHW heating, constant operation or standby mode – all these functions can be selected by pressing just a few keys. Additional benefits of room cooling or controlled domestic ventilation As the recirculating air heat pump version, the Vitocal 160-A uses the air straight from the room in which it is installed. As an extract air heat pump, it draws in warm extract air via ducts out of the bathroom, WC and kitchen. Some of the heat is extracted from the inrushing air to heat the DHW. The recirculating air heat pump then returns the cooled and dehumidified air to the installation room, that can then be used as a cool storage room for groceries. The extract air cooled in the heat pump is routed to the outside via an expelled air duct. In conjunction with ventilation air apertures that ensure the supply of fresh outside air to the living space, the Vitocal 160-A becomes the central component of a controlled domestic ventilation system. Each version – for recirculating air or extract air operation – is also available in a design with an integral solar heat exchanger and solar control unit. By connecting up to 6 m² of flatplate collectors or up to 3 m² of vacuum tube collectors, the energy from the sun can also be used for DHW heating, which can mean a further reduction in operating costs. 230 V socket is sufficient The Vitocal 160-A is supplied preassembled. Simply install, connect the water lines and condensate drain, and plug into the usual 230 V socket – and the recirculating air heat pump is ready for operation. As the extract air heat pump version, the Vitocal 160-A must also be connected to the ventilation system. For this, it is simple to use air ducts from the proven Vitovent accessory range.
