AC-Box

The active cooling box combines the energyefficient natural cooling and the active cooling functions using the compressor in a single system. With natural cooling, the compressor circuit is bypassed – only the brine and heating circuit pumps are running. As soon as the natural cooling capacity becomes inadequate, the system automatically switches over to active cooling. For active cooling, the compressor starts and the internal diverter of the AC-Box swaps the functions of the outlets and inlets, thereby actively transporting heat to the geothermal probe. This makes cold water down to 7 °C available at the previous heating circuit. The dissipated heat can also be used to heat DHW or to heat swimming pool water. This makes for a highly efficient combination of cooling and heating demands. The heat dissipated underground as part of the cooling process is stored and can be recovered during the heating season. Consequently, it increases the efficiency of the system as a whole.
